Revitalizing the Shopping Experience

Role: Designed exterior & interior design concept, wayfinding system & signage, created paper prototype.

Scotts Square in Singapore

Scotts Square is a luxury shopping mall and residential complex in Singapore. The residential and retail components are designed to create a harmonious balance between functionality and elegance, further enhanced by a cohesive and comprehensive wayfinding and signage system. The concept explores various combinations of forms and materials that seamlessly integrate with the architecture, improving the visitor experience.

Wayfinding Design Services is more than just signage, it is a set of experiences working in concert together to assist the user in orienting themselves and navigating to a specific destination. I followed these steps to create a clear system:

  1. Conduct a space audit

  2. Define signage types

  3. Identify graphic elements: typography, iconography and colors

  4. Define graphic layout on signage: types and element settings

  5. Mockup typical installation elevations

  6. Confirm mounting instructions

  7. Create sign location plans
